Rawalakot Airport is a small airport located in Rawalakot, the main town of Poonch District in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It sits among forested hills at an elevation of about 1,670 metres and has a single asphalt runway.
The airport once served as a domestic air link for the region, with Pakistan International Airlines operating flights between Rawalakot and Islamabad. Scheduled services were suspended following the October 2005 Kashmir earthquake, and the airport has remained without regular commercial flights.
Located roughly 4–5 kilometres from Rawalakot town centre, the airport is reached by local roads. Taxis, private transfers and other road transport connect the area with Rawalakot and nearby towns such as Bagh and Palandri, while Islamabad lies about 68 kilometres to the west.
Because scheduled operations have not resumed, the airport currently has limited passenger facilities and no active terminal activity. Many travellers visiting the Rawalakot area arrive through Islamabad and continue by road.
