About Ravenna Airport
Ravenna Airport is a small general aviation airport serving the city of Ravenna and the surrounding Emilia-Romagna region. Also known as Aeroporto Gastone Novelli or La Spreta, it focuses on private flights, flight training, skydiving and aeroclub activity rather than scheduled commercial passenger services.
The airport is located about 5 km south of central Ravenna, close to the Via Dismano and the Adriatic coast. It has a single asphalt runway aligned east-west and a compact passenger building, with facilities grouped around the apron, hangars and aeroclub premises.
The site has a long aviation history dating back to 1916 and was named after First World War pilot Gastone Novelli. Today the Aeroclub Francesco Baracca runs flight school operations from the airport, and a skydiving drop zone also operates from the field.
