Ralph Wenz Field (PWY)

Ralph Wenz Field is a town-owned public-use airport serving Pinedale and Sublette County in western Wyoming. Located about 6 miles southeast of central Pinedale, it is primarily a general aviation airport used by private aircraft, business jets, and smaller single- and multi-engine planes.

The airport was named in memory of Ralph Wenz, a Pinedale-area navigator who died in a 1947 airplane crash in Alaska. It began as a grass landing strip in the late 1940s, received its first paved runway in the 1950s, and was expanded over the following decades. A runway extension completed in 2008 brought the main runway to 8,900 feet, improving operations at the airport's elevation of about 7,085 feet.

Ralph Wenz Field has a single general aviation passenger facility served by a fixed base operator, Top Flight Aviation, which offers fueling, maintenance, hangar facilities, and passenger support. The airport does not operate scheduled commercial airline service.

Ground access is provided by road, with Pinedale approximately a 10–15 minute drive away. From there, travelers can continue to surrounding recreation areas including the Wind River Range, Fremont Lake, and other destinations in western Wyoming.
