About Quetta International Airport
Quetta International Airport is the main international gateway serving Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province. Located about 12 km southwest of the city centre, it is the largest airport in Balochistan and one of the country's highest airports at 1,605 metres above sea level.
The airport has evolved from a small pre-independence airstrip into a modern facility. Domestic services on the Karachi–Quetta–Lahore route began in 1954, the runway was completed in 1958, and the first international flights launched in 1977. The current terminal building opened in 1982 and was later expanded with a main concourse hall in 2001.
Today the airport operates through a single passenger terminal handling domestic and international arrivals and departures, with airline counters, security and baggage areas, lounges and essential passenger facilities. It is operated by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and shares the site with military operations.
Ground access is provided by taxis, private transfers, rental cars and road links into central Quetta, making the airport the main air connection for travellers heading to Quetta, Ziarat and other destinations across Balochistan.
