About Quartz Creek Airport

Quartz Creek Airport is a small public-use general aviation airport located about three miles east of Cooper Landing, Alaska, on the central Kenai Peninsula. It is owned and maintained by the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and serves private pilots, air taxis and other general aviation traffic rather than scheduled airline service.

The airport operates a single gravel and dirt runway, designated 4/22, measuring approximately 2,200 by 60 feet at an elevation of about 466 feet. The field is unattended and has no control tower, fuel service or terminal building, with aircraft parking limited to tiedowns.

Cooper Landing sits along the Sterling Highway, roughly 100 road miles southwest of Anchorage. From Quartz Creek Airport, travelers can continue by road to Cooper Landing and Kenai Lake, or toward Seward to the south and Soldotna, Kenai and Homer to the west.

Because it is a remote, uncontrolled airstrip, Quartz Creek Airport is best suited to private and chartered flights, with limited passenger amenities on site and essential services available in nearby Cooper Landing.
