Pueblo Memorial Airport is the main public airport serving Pueblo and the surrounding southeastern Colorado region. Opened in 1941 as the Pueblo Army Air Base, it trained B-17 and B-24 bomber crews during World War II before being transferred to the City of Pueblo in 1948 for civilian use.
Today, the airport primarily supports general aviation, military training, and scheduled commuter flights, with passenger service to Denver. Its compact single-terminal layout keeps check-in, security, and the boarding gate close together, making it a convenient and low-stress option for regional travelers.
Located about 6 miles east of downtown Pueblo at the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, the airport is reached mainly by car, taxi, rideshare, or rental vehicle. Free parking is available close to the terminal, and the short drive into the city makes onward connections straightforward.
