About Princeton Airport
Princeton Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Princeton and central New Jersey. Its aviation history dates to 1911, when early aviator Richard A. Newhouse began building and flying aircraft on the site; the field was later named Princeton Airport in 1929.
Located about three miles north of downtown Princeton and just west of Rocky Hill in Montgomery Township, the airport provides a base for private flights, charter aircraft, flight training and aircraft rental rather than scheduled airline service. It operates a single paved runway, 10/28, measuring about 3,499 feet, along with a compact terminal and FBO complex.
The airport sits in a convenient central New Jersey location roughly between New York City and Philadelphia, making it a practical general aviation gateway for the Princeton University area, corporate travelers and regional visitors.
Ground access is straightforward by road, with taxis, rideshare, private transfers and rental cars connecting the airport to Princeton town centre, Princeton University and surrounding communities.
