Portsmouth International Airport at Pease is a joint civil-military airport serving Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the wider Seacoast region of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Originally established as a military airfield in 1941 and later operated as Pease Air Force Base, the facility was redeveloped after base closure in 1991 and now supports commercial passenger, cargo, and general aviation activity within the Pease International Tradeport.
Located about 2 km (1 mile) west of downtown Portsmouth and close to Interstate 95, the airport offers convenient access to the New Hampshire Seacoast, the Kittery and York areas of southern Maine, and points between Boston and Portland. Scheduled passenger service is currently provided by Allegiant Air and Breeze Airways, mainly with seasonal nonstop flights to Florida destinations.
The airport operates from a single passenger terminal that was expanded in 2020 with additional space, baggage handling capacity, and a passenger boarding bridge. Further improvements to the arrivals hall are focused on reducing congestion and improving accessibility for arriving passengers.
