About Port Moller Airport

Port Moller Airport is a small, publicly owned airstrip serving the remote Port Moller area on the Alaska Peninsula. Formerly known as Port Moller Air Force Station, the facility is owned by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management and operates as a private-use airport where landing requires prior permission.

The airport lies about 87 nautical miles northeast of Cold Bay in the Aleutians East Borough. It has a single gravel runway, designated 1/19, measuring 3,500 by 100 feet, and sits at an elevation of about 20 feet above sea level. Grant Aviation provides scheduled commuter flights to Cold Bay and Nelson Lagoon, with seasonal service to King Salmon.

Port Moller itself is a seasonal fishing and cannery community with very few year-round residents, so the airport mainly supports workers, supply flights and local air travel rather than large-scale passenger traffic.

There is no dedicated passenger terminal, and on-site services are very limited. Because the airport is unattended and has no commercial ground transport, travelers should confirm flights and arrange onward logistics in advance.
