About Pompano Beach Airpark
Pompano Beach Airpark is a public general aviation airport in Pompano Beach, Florida, owned and operated by the City of Pompano Beach. Built during World War II as a satellite training field for the Naval Air Station at what is now Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, it was transferred to the city on August 29, 1947 and has since served non-airline aviation.
The airport operates three asphalt runways, the longest measuring 4,918 feet by 150 feet, and supports private aircraft, charter operations, flight training, aerial photography and aviation maintenance. It is not served by scheduled airlines.
Located about one mile northeast of downtown Pompano Beach and roughly eight miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale, the airpark sits close to Florida's Gold Coast beaches and local attractions. Ground transportation options include taxis, ride-hailing services, rental cars and private transfers.
Two fixed-base operators, Sheltair Aviation and Pompano Aviation, provide fueling, maintenance, hangars, flight instruction and passenger amenities, making the airpark a practical gateway for private and business aviation in northern Broward County.
