About Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the main airport serving Phoenix and the Greater Phoenix region of Arizona. It began as a small airfield in 1928 and has grown into one of the busiest airports in the United States, supporting both domestic and international travel.
Located just east of downtown Phoenix, the airport operates two passenger terminals: Terminal 3, the John S. McCain III Terminal, and Terminal 4, the Barry M. Goldwater Terminal. Terminal 4 is the larger international gateway and a hub for American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, while Terminal 3 handles many domestic services and pre-cleared international arrivals.
The PHX Sky Train, a free automated train, connects the terminals with the Rental Car Center, economy parking and the Valley Metro Rail station at 44th Street, which provides onward access to Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. Taxis, ride-share services, shuttles and rental cars are also available for travel to hotels and nearby destinations such as Scottsdale.
With dining, shopping, lounges, free Wi-Fi and accessibility services across its terminals, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport serves as a convenient gateway for visitors arriving in the Phoenix metropolitan area and the wider Southwest.
