About Perales Airport
Perales Airport (IBE) is the main airport serving Ibagué, the capital of the Tolima Department in central Colombia. Operated by Aerocivil, it connects the city with Bogotá and Medellín and acts as a regional gateway for the surrounding Tolima area.
The airport's history dates to the late 1950s, when it grew from a modest airfield serving Ibagué. A new passenger terminal was put into operation in October 2018, with around 11,100 square metres of built area and space for roughly 400 passengers in its boarding lounges.
Located east of the city centre, roughly 11 km from Ibagué's financial district, the airport is reached mainly by taxi and road. Travel into the city centre normally takes about 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.
The single terminal handles domestic flights and offers basic passenger facilities including cafés, shops, Wi-Fi and accessibility services, making it a convenient point of arrival for visitors to Ibagué and the wider Tolima region.
