About Pangsuma Airport
Pangsuma Airport is the main air gateway to Putussibau and the Kapuas Hulu Regency in West Kalimantan, an area near the Indonesia–Malaysia border. It connects this remote district with Pontianak, the provincial capital, and supports both business and leisure travel in the region.
Located about 6 km south of Putussibau town centre, the airport has a single runway of about 1,800 metres and a single passenger terminal. The airport was redeveloped between 2014 and 2019, and a new two-storey terminal building of roughly 4,800 square metres was completed in late 2024 and brought into service in 2025.
The airport is served by scheduled domestic flights, primarily the Putussibau–Pontianak route operated by Wings Air, with Citilink and NAM Air having previously served the airport. Road access to Putussibau is short, and taxis, private transfers and rental cars provide onward travel.
Operating on Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), Pangsuma Airport offers essential passenger facilities and acts as a key connection point for travellers exploring the upper Kapuas river area.
