Palenque International Airport is the main airport serving Palenque, a city in northern Chiapas known for the nearby ancient Maya ruins. It functions as a regional gateway for domestic flights and general aviation, connecting travelers with the wider Palenque area.
The airport opened in 1996 and was later expanded with a new terminal inaugurated in February 2014. It has a single passenger terminal and one asphalt runway of approximately 2,500 metres, capable of handling aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
Located about 5 km from the centre of Palenque, the airport is reached by road in roughly 10–15 minutes. Taxis, private transfers and rental cars provide onward travel, and the Palenque Tren Maya station is about 6 km away.
