Ouani Airport (AJN)

Ouani Airport is the main airport serving Anjouan (Nzwani), one of the three principal islands of the Comoros. Located near the northern town of Ouani, it connects the island through domestic flights to Moroni on Grande Comore and Mohéli, as well as regional services to Mayotte.

Operated by Aéroports des Comores, the airport uses a single runway of about 1,350 metres and a compact passenger terminal. Its position close to the capital Mutsamudu, roughly 6 km away, makes it a practical arrival point for travelers continuing to the island's main city and coastal towns.

Transport from the airport is mainly by taxi, private transfer or rental car, since public transport options are limited; onward journeys to Mutsamudu and other parts of Anjouan follow local road routes. The airport generally operates from early morning until evening local time.

Although facilities are modest, Ouani Airport provides essential passenger services and remains the key air link for visitors, residents and businesses traveling to and from Anjouan.
