Osvaldo Vieira International Airport is the only international airport in Guinea-Bissau and the main air gateway to Bissau, the country's capital and largest city. Located in the Bissalanca area just outside the city, it connects Guinea-Bissau with regional and international destinations including Senegal, Portugal and Morocco.
Originally opened in May 1955 as Francisco Craveiro Lopes Airport, the facility was renamed after independence and has since been expanded in stages, including the opening of a new passenger terminal. It serves both scheduled passenger flights and limited cargo operations.
