About Oslo Airport Gardermoen
Oslo Airport Gardermoen is Norway's main international airport and the country's busiest aviation hub, serving Oslo and the wider eastern Norway region. Opened on 8 October 1998, it replaced the former Oslo Airport at Fornebu and consolidated most of the capital area's commercial air traffic into a single modern airport complex.
Located at Gardermoen in Ullensaker, about 47 km northeast of central Oslo, the airport handles a broad mix of domestic, European and intercontinental services. Its single passenger terminal was expanded with a new pier in 2017, adding capacity and more gates for both domestic and international traffic.
The airport is directly connected to Oslo by rail, with the Flytoget Airport Express Train reaching Oslo Central Station in around 19–20 minutes and Vy regional trains also serving the station beneath the terminal. Buses, taxis, private transfers, car rental and road links provide additional options for reaching the city centre and surrounding areas.
