About Orsha Airport
Orsha Airport, also known as Balbasovo Air Base, is a commercial airport located approximately 11 km southwest of Orsha in Belarus's Vitebsk Region. The site began as a Soviet-era military air base and has been redeveloped as a cargo, logistics and business aviation hub within the Bremino-Orsha multimodal complex. Its IATA code, TXC, was assigned in late 2021 as the airport prepared for commercial operations.
The airport has a single 3,001-metre runway and one terminal and administrative complex, which handles passengers, crews and private aviation clients. Following modernization work completed between 2018 and 2020, the airport can accept large cargo and passenger aircraft, and it supports cargo processing, aircraft maintenance and limited passenger formalities.
Road access to the airport is convenient from the M1/E30 highway, which links Brest, Minsk and the Russian border. Orsha itself can be reached by taxi, private transfer or rental car in roughly 20–25 minutes, although the airport does not currently offer regular express public transport connections.
Because the airport focuses on cargo and business aviation rather than scheduled tourist flights, the terminal experience is compact and private, with lounge facilities, Wi-Fi, charging points and a medical post available for passengers.
