About Ørland Airport
Ørland Airport is a joint civil/military airport serving Brekstad, Ørland Municipality and the Fosen peninsula in Trøndelag county, Norway. The civilian sector sits west of Ørland Main Air Station, while the runway, air traffic control and rescue services are operated by the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
The terminal building was completed in 1978 and renovated in 2007, with capacity for around 50 passengers per flight. The airport is owned and operated by Ørland Municipality and holds international status with customs and border controls. Danish Air Transport (DAT) operates scheduled routes between Ørland and Oslo Gardermoen, as well as connections to Evenes.
Located about 2.6 km from Brekstad town centre and roughly 49 km across the Trondheimsfjord from Trondheim, the airport provides a convenient air link for the coastal Fosen region. Brekstad is connected by fast boat and ferry services, and local buses, taxis and pre-booked transfers serve the airport.
