About Olympia Regional Airport
Olympia Regional Airport is the primary general aviation airport serving Olympia, the capital of Washington, and the surrounding South Puget Sound region. It supports private, business and charter aircraft, flight training and aviation businesses, and provides convenient air access to the Thurston County area.
The airfield has a long history, with aviation activity on the site dating to the early 1900s. The City of Olympia purchased the property in 1928 and paved the runways, and during World War II the airport operated as a satellite of nearby McChord Field. The Port of Olympia has owned and operated the airport since 1963.
Located in Tumwater, about 7 km (4 miles) south of downtown Olympia and roughly 1.6 km (1 mile) east of Interstate 5, the airport offers straightforward road access to the city centre, the Washington State Capitol and nearby communities such as Lacey. Rental cars, taxis, rideshare services, private transfers and chauffeur services provide onward travel options.
Although no scheduled commercial passenger flights currently operate from OLM, the airport provides general aviation facilities including two FBOs, passenger and pilot lounges, conference rooms, Wi-Fi, aircraft parking and fueling. The closest airports with scheduled passenger service are Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Portland International Airport (PDX).
