Old Harbor Airport is a state-owned, public-use airport serving Old Harbor, an Alutiiq community on the southeast coast of Kodiak Island, Alaska. Located about 2 miles (4 km) northeast of the village centre, it provides a vital air link for a community with no road connection to the rest of the island.
The airport has a single gravel runway designated 3/21, measuring 2,750 by 60 feet, suitable for small turboprop and bush aircraft. Regional carrier Island Air Service connects Old Harbor with Kodiak Airport, the main hub for onward travel to Anchorage and beyond.
The site began as a World War II-era military airfield, Fort Tidball Army Airfield, before transferring to civilian control and becoming a public airport. Today it supports passenger travel, mail, cargo, and essential services for the remote island community.
