About Odessa-Schlemeyer Field
Odessa-Schlemeyer Field is a general aviation airport serving Odessa, Texas, and the wider Permian Basin. It primarily handles private, business and charter aircraft and supports corporate and oilfield-related air travel in West Texas.
Opened in November 1945, the airport is located about 5 miles northeast of downtown Odessa in Ector County. It has three asphalt runways and a fixed-base operator that provides fueling, aircraft parking, hangars, ground handling and passenger services.
Because Odessa-Schlemeyer Field is a general aviation facility, most commercial airline service for the area is handled at nearby Midland International Air and Space Port. Travelers arriving at ODT can continue to Odessa, Midland and surrounding business destinations by pre-arranged car, taxi, chauffeur or rental car.
With its fixed-base operator terminal and passenger lounge, the airport serves as a practical entry point for private aviation travelers visiting the Permian Basin region.
