About Ocean City Municipal Airport
Ocean City Municipal Airport is a public general aviation airport serving Ocean City, Maryland and the surrounding Eastern Shore. Opened in October 1960, the airport is owned by the Town of Ocean City and supports private flying, charter traffic, flight training and air tours.
Located about 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Ocean City in West Ocean City, just off Route 611, the airport covers 578 acres with two paved runways. During the early 1980s it also handled commuter airline service to Baltimore, and today it remains a convenient arrival point for pilots and visitors travelling to the resort area.
The airport is reached by road via Route 611 and the Route 50 corridor, with taxis, ride services, private transfers and car rental available for the short trip to the Ocean City boardwalk, beaches, West Ocean City, Assateague Island and Berlin.
On site, Ocean Aviation operates as the full-service fixed-base operator and flight academy, supported by fuel services, aircraft maintenance, a pilot lounge and a terminal restaurant. The facility provides a relaxed gateway for general aviation travellers visiting Maryland's coastal region.
