About Ocala International Airport – Jim Taylor Field
Ocala International Airport – Jim Taylor Field is a publicly owned general aviation airport serving Ocala, Marion County, and north-central Florida. The airport was activated in 1961 and is located about 4 miles west of downtown Ocala, near the region's horse farms and equestrian communities.
Although the airport does not currently offer scheduled commercial airline service, it is certified to handle air carrier operations and supports general aviation, corporate aviation, and air cargo activity. The facility covers roughly 1,500 acres and has two runways, including a 7,468-foot main runway, along with an air traffic control tower.
A 17,500-square-foot general aviation terminal was completed in 2020 and houses the fixed-base operator Sheltair, airport offices, and a restaurant. The terminal provides passenger lounges, meeting space, rental car providers, and parking for arriving and departing travelers.
Located about 70 miles northwest of downtown Orlando, the airport offers easy road access to Ocala and surrounding destinations. Travelers can continue by taxi, rental car, private transfer, or chauffeur service to downtown Ocala, Silver Springs, Ocala National Forest, and other points across central Florida.
