Nzérékoré Airport (NZE)

Nzérékoré Airport is a public airfield serving Nzérékoré, one of the main cities of Guinea's Forest Region in the southeast of the country. It provides an air link for the city and surrounding prefectures, including Macenta, Lola, Yomou and Beyla, and supports regional and humanitarian flight activity. Located about 12 km northeast of the city centre, the airport has a single runway and a compact passenger terminal. In March 2023, the Guinean authorities launched reconstruction and modernization works for the regional aerodrome, including plans for an improved runway and a new passenger terminal. The airport is reached by road from Nzérékoré, with taxi and private vehicle connections to the city and nearby districts. Road conditions can vary, so travelers should allow extra time for the journey. Although facilities remain basic, the airport serves as an important access point for the Forest Region and for connections toward Guinea's borders with Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire.
