About Nukutavake Airport
Nukutavake Airport (NUK) is a small domestic airfield on Nukutavake atoll, part of the Tuamotu archipelago in French Polynesia. It is the only airfield on the island and mainly serves the village of Tavananui.
Located about 1 km southeast of Tavananui, the airport has one asphalt runway (07/25) and a small single passenger terminal. Scheduled flights are operated by Air Tahiti, linking Nukutavake with Papeete on Tahiti and other islands in the eastern Tuamotu.
Because the atoll is small and remote, airport facilities are limited. The airfield is used primarily for daytime flights, and there is no fuel service, with travel arranged around the scheduled inter-island flights.
Despite its compact size, the airport provides an important connection for residents and visitors travelling to and from Nukutavake and the surrounding Tuamotu islands.
