About Nottingham City Airport
Nottingham City Airport, also known as Nottingham Airport, is a general aviation airfield serving Nottingham and the surrounding Nottinghamshire area. It lies in Tollerton, about 3 nautical miles (5.6 km) southeast of Nottingham city centre, making it one of the closest airfields to a UK city centre.
The airfield opened in 1930 and has a long aviation history, including use during the Second World War. Today it primarily supports general aviation, private flying, flight training and visiting light aircraft, rather than scheduled airline services. Its facilities include a clubhouse, flying club and flight training operations, hangars and a café, with two runways available for aircraft movements.
Road access is straightforward, with the airfield signposted from the A52 at Trent Bridge and the A606, and nearby routes linking to Nottingham city centre and surrounding towns. For scheduled commercial flights, travellers generally use nearby East Midlands Airport.
For private pilots and visitors, Nottingham City Airport offers a convenient base close to the city, with onward travel by taxi, private transfer, chauffeur or rental car.
