About Northeast Philadelphia Airport
Northeast Philadelphia Airport is a general aviation reliever airport for Philadelphia International Airport and part of the City of Philadelphia's Division of Aviation. It opened in the 1930s as Northeast Airport, a grass field, and has since developed into Pennsylvania's busiest general aviation hub.
Located in Northeast Philadelphia near the intersection of Grant Avenue and Ashton Road, PNE is roughly 10 to 12 miles northeast of Center City Philadelphia. It primarily serves corporate, private, charter and training aircraft, with no scheduled commercial airline service.
The airport operates two asphalt runways, 6/24 and 15/33, along with hangars, taxiways and an administration building. Atlantic Aviation provides fixed-base operator services, including fueling, aircraft maintenance, ground handling, catering and passenger lounges.
Road access from the airport makes it possible to reach central Philadelphia in roughly 30 minutes under normal traffic, with rental cars, taxis, rideshares and pre-arranged private or chauffeur services available for onward travel.
