About Northeast Florida Regional Airport
Northeast Florida Regional Airport is a public airport serving St. Augustine, St. Johns County and the surrounding Northeast Florida region. Located approximately four miles (6 km) north of historic St. Augustine, the airport is managed by the St. Johns County Airport Authority and functions as a regional gateway for general aviation and limited commercial travel.
The airport began as a private airfield in the 1920s and was later used for military purposes before coming under airport authority management in the 1960s. A terminal building and additional hangars were built in 1966, and a 10,000-square-foot terminal was constructed in 2007. The facility was renamed Northeast Florida Regional Airport in April 2010. Today it covers 668 acres and has three runways and three seaplane lanes.
The airport sits close to US Highway 1 with convenient access to Interstate 95, making it easy to continue to St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach and nearby coastal areas. Passengers can use taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars for onward travel.
With a compact passenger terminal, U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities, car rental services and extensive general aviation support, the airport serves both leisure and business travelers visiting Florida's Historic Coast.
