North Ronaldsay Airport serves North Ronaldsay, the northernmost of the Orkney Islands in Scotland, and provides the island's main scheduled air link to Kirkwall and the wider transport network. The airfield dates back to 1934, with the modern air service beginning in 1968. In 1999 the original grass runway was replaced by two hard runways, and today Loganair operates short scheduled flights between North Ronaldsay and Kirkwall in around 15 minutes.
The airport lies near Hollandstoun on the island's western side and has a single, compact terminal building with a small waiting area. Facilities are intentionally simple, with no shops or cafés, and onward travel is typically arranged through guesthouse pickups, walking or cycling, since the island has no public buses or taxis.
Despite its size, the airport keeps North Ronaldsay connected year-round under often challenging island weather, supporting both the local community and visitors coming to experience the island's lighthouse, birdlife and distinctive seaweed-eating sheep.
