About North Perry Airport
North Perry Airport is a public-use general aviation reliever airport serving Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and southern Broward County. Owned and operated by Broward County, it supports private flying, charter operations, flight training and aircraft maintenance, while helping reduce general aviation traffic at nearby commercial airports.
The site dates back to 1943, when the U.S. Navy built the field as a satellite flight training facility. After remaining inactive following World War II, the airport was acquired by Broward County in 1956 and developed into the general aviation facility that operates today.
Located about 5 miles west of central Hollywood and roughly 10 miles southwest of downtown Fort Lauderdale, the airport has four paved runways, more than 400 based aircraft and over 40 aviation businesses. Fixed-base operators provide fueling, hangar storage, maintenance, catering and flight-planning services.
North Perry Airport is reached by road, and travelers can continue to Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and nearby destinations by taxi, rideshare, rental car, private transfer or pre-arranged chauffeur service. Although it has no scheduled commercial airline terminals, it serves as an important base for private and business aviation in South Florida.
