Norsup Airport is the main domestic air gateway to Malekula, the second-largest island in Vanuatu, and serves the surrounding Malampa Province. Located near the town of Norsup and close to the provincial centre of Lakatoro, the airport connects the island with the rest of the country.
It is a compact regional facility with a single asphalt runway and a small passenger terminal. Scheduled domestic flights, primarily operated by Air Vanuatu, link Malekula with Port Vila, the capital, and other domestic destinations.
The airport lies roughly 5 km from Lakatoro, and short road transfers, taxis and pre-arranged hotel pick-ups provide onward travel to Lakatoro, Norsup and other areas of Malekula.
Upgrade projects are underway to improve the runway, terminal and supporting infrastructure so the airport can better serve travelers and accommodate larger aircraft, supporting visitors heading to Malekula's coastal villages, beaches and cultural sites.
