About New River Valley Airport
New River Valley Airport is the main general aviation airport serving Dublin, Pulaski County and Virginia's New River Valley. Located about two miles north of Dublin, it supports private, corporate and business aviation, and functions as a U.S. Customs user fee airport for international arrivals.
The airport opened in the early 1960s and is owned and operated by the New River Valley Airport Commission. It operates a single asphalt runway, 6/24, which is 6,201 feet long, along with an FBO, aircraft parking and maintenance facilities. The passenger terminal was replaced in the mid-1990s.
The airport sits just off Interstate 81 and U.S. Route 11, providing quick road access to Dublin, Pulaski, Radford, Christiansburg and Blacksburg, home of Virginia Tech. Roanoke is about 35 miles to the east.
With no control tower and limited commercial traffic, the airport offers a straightforward arrival and departure experience for private pilots and passengers. Fuel, hangars, aircraft maintenance and ground transportation arrangements are available on site, making it a practical gateway for visitors to the New River Valley and the Blue Ridge region.
