About New Gwadar International Airport
New Gwadar International Airport is the main airport serving Gwadar and the Makran Coast in Pakistan's Balochistan province. Completed in 2024 and opened to commercial flights in January 2025, it replaced the older Gwadar airport and provides the region with its first large-scale international gateway.
Located about 26 kilometres east of Gwadar city in the Gurandani area, the airport covers roughly 4,300 acres and is built as a 4F-grade facility. Its single 14,000-square-metre terminal and 3,658-metre runway can handle wide-body aircraft including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8.
The airport is linked to Gwadar city and the national highway network by the East Bay Expressway, a six-lane route that connects travellers to the Makran Coastal Highway, the port area and onward destinations.
Passenger services include check-in kiosks, automated baggage handling, duty-free and retail outlets, dining options and lounges, while refrigerated cargo storage supports seafood exports and regional trade.
