New Coalinga Municipal Airport (CLG)

New Coalinga Municipal Airport is a public-use general aviation airport located about three miles east of Coalinga, in Fresno County, California. It serves the city of Coalinga and the surrounding west side of the San Joaquin Valley, supporting private aviation, agricultural operations, and emergency services access to the area.

The airport was activated in 1996 and is owned by the City of Coalinga. It has two runways: a 5,000-foot asphalt runway designated 12/30 and a shorter asphalt/gravel runway designated 1/19, along with aircraft parking and tiedown areas. The airfield operates without a control tower, with pilots using the common traffic advisory frequency.

Because it is a general aviation field rather than a scheduled airline airport, there are no commercial passenger terminals, airline check-in desks, or baggage claim facilities. Travelers arriving by private or charter aircraft continue onward by road, with Coalinga, State Route 198, and Interstate 5 nearby providing access across central California.

For ground transportation, visitors can arrange private transfers, taxis, chauffeur services, or rental vehicles for the short journey into Coalinga and onward to destinations such as Coalinga State Hospital and Pleasant Valley State Prison. Fuel and basic aircraft services are available, with hotels, restaurants, and other services located in town.
