About Nashua Airport at Boire Field
Nashua Airport at Boire Field is a public-use general aviation airport serving Nashua and the wider southern New Hampshire region. It lies about three miles northwest of Nashua's central business district and provides a convenient alternative gateway for private and business aviation traveling to Manchester, Concord and the greater Boston area.
The airport dates back to 1934, when the city of Nashua acquired a small existing airfield, and it was named Boire Field in 1943 in honour of Ensign Paul Boire, Nashua's first World War II casualty. The Nashua Airport Authority has overseen the facility since 1961, and its air traffic control tower has operated since 1972.
Boire Field has a single 6,000-foot asphalt runway and supports general aviation, flight training, corporate and charter operations. It has no scheduled commercial airline service, so arrivals and departures are handled through fixed-base operators that provide fueling, maintenance, hangar space and passenger amenities.
The airport sits close to the Everett Turnpike and downtown Nashua, while Boston is roughly 50 miles to the south and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport about 15 miles to the north. This makes it a practical entry point for visitors exploring southern New Hampshire and the surrounding New England communities.
