Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie Airport is the main airport serving Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi on the island of Sulawesi. It connects the city with major Indonesian destinations including Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar, as well as regional points across Sulawesi, and functions as a key gateway for travellers visiting the province.
Located about 7 km southeast of central Palu, the airport operates from a single passenger terminal. The original airfield dates back to the 1950s, and a new terminal with three jet bridges opened in 2014, replacing the older terminal building. The airport was repaired and redeveloped after the earthquake and tsunami that affected Palu in 2018.
Ground access from the airport to Palu is mainly by road. Taxis, private airport transfers and rental cars provide the most direct connections to hotels, business locations and other parts of the city, with the journey to the centre normally taking around 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic.
