Moyobamba Airport (MBP) is a small regional aerodrome serving the town of Moyobamba and the Alto Mayo valley in the San Martín Region of northern Peru. It sits just northwest of the city at an elevation of about 838 metres and has a single unpaved runway of around 1,350 metres.
The aerodrome has historically handled light aircraft and regional flights, but it was declared definitively closed in November 2013 by Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications. Since then, scheduled commercial traffic for the area has been served by nearby airports, including Juan Simons Vela Airport in Rioja and Cadete FAP Guillermo del Castillo Paredes Airport in Tarapoto.
Located only a short drive from the centre of Moyobamba, the airport site is well connected by local roads, and the wider region is served by buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars. Travelers continuing to Moyobamba, Rioja, Tarapoto and other Alto Mayo destinations can arrange road journeys from the operating airports nearby.
