Moundou Airport (MQQ)

Moundou Airport (MQQ) serves Moundou, Chad's second-largest city and the main urban centre of the Logone Occidental region in southern Chad. The airport is a key air link for the city and the surrounding agricultural and trade areas, although scheduled commercial services have been limited in recent years. The airport lies about 4–7 km north of central Moundou and has a single asphalt runway, 04/22, measuring roughly 3,000 metres. A state-funded modernization programme has added a new passenger terminal, freight hangar, power plant and technical buildings, with further work continuing on the control tower and navigation systems to prepare for domestic and international operations. Road connections link the airport to Moundou and the wider region, including routes toward the Cameroon border. Travelers typically continue into the city by private car, taxi or a pre-arranged transfer, since regular public transport options are limited. Passenger facilities are compact, with a waiting area, restrooms and a small café, while freight, power and fire-service infrastructure support airport operations. As regional air links develop, the airport is positioned to serve as a gateway for southern Chad.
