Morris Municipal Airport Charlie Schmidt Field (MOX) is a public-use general aviation airport serving Morris and Stevens County in west-central Minnesota. Owned and operated by the City of Morris, the airport has supported local flying since it was activated in March 1942 and continues to serve pilots, businesses and visitors to the region.
The airport is located on Minnesota Highway 28, about 3 miles southwest of downtown Morris. It operates a single paved runway, 14/32, measuring 4,899 feet by 75 feet, with a parallel taxiway. The small arrival/departure building provides a pilot lounge, conference area and aviation weather center, while two t-hangars and three heated multi-storage hangars offer aircraft storage.
MOX is a self-service airport with no scheduled airline service. Self-service credit-card refueling is available for Jet A and 100LL aviation fuel, and the airport is supported by VOR/DME, AWOS weather reporting and a common traffic advisory frequency. A courtesy car is available on request, and a local taxi service provides ground transportation to Morris.
Although compact, the airport functions as an important general aviation link for west-central Minnesota, including access to the University of Minnesota Morris, local businesses and nearby recreation areas such as Pomme de Terre Park and Pomme de Terre Golf Club.
