Molde Airport, Årø is the main airport serving Molde and the surrounding Romsdal region in Møre og Romsdal county, western Norway. Opened in 1972 and operated by state-owned Avinor, it mainly handles domestic scheduled flights to Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim, as well as some seasonal charter services.
Located at Årø, roughly 5 km east of central Molde, the airport has a single compact terminal building that combines check-in, security, arrivals and departures. Short walking distances make it easy to move between the entrance, security screening and gates, and the terminal has been expanded and modernized several times since opening.
The airport is connected to Molde by local bus route 701, taxis and private transfers, with the journey to the city centre usually taking about ten minutes. Car rental desks and parking are also available at the terminal, and the airport lies close to the E39 road.
