About Millville Municipal Airport
Millville Municipal Airport serves the Millville area and southern New Jersey as a general aviation and executive airport. Built in 1941 as a U.S. Army Air Corps base, it was dedicated as America's First Defense Airport and trained P-47 Thunderbolt pilots during World War II.
After the war the airport was transferred to the City of Millville, and in 1999 the city entered a lease agreement with the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA), which has modernized and rebranded the facility as Millville Executive. The airfield has two runways: Runway 10/28 at 6,003 feet and Runway 14/32 at 5,057 feet, along with taxiways and aircraft parking ramps.
Located about 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of downtown Millville, the airport offers 24-hour operations and road access to Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Cape May, and Jersey Shore communities. Big Sky Aviation serves as the on-site FBO.
Although it does not handle scheduled airline service, the airport supports corporate, charter, and private aviation with fuel, maintenance, hangar space, and passenger facilities. It is also home to the Millville Army Air Field Museum.
