About Menongue Airport
Menongue Airport, also known as Comandante Kwenha Airport, is the main airport serving Menongue, the capital of Cuando Cubango Province in southeastern Angola. The airport connects the city and surrounding region with domestic air services, most notably scheduled flights to Luanda. Located a few kilometres east of central Menongue, the airport has a single passenger terminal and an asphalt runway that was extended and improved during an expansion completed in the early 2010s. The works enlarged the terminal building and upgraded airside infrastructure to handle larger aircraft. Ground transportation is mainly by taxi, with private transfers and limited car rental available at or near the terminal. The short distance to the city centre makes onward travel to Menongue practical and convenient. Although smaller than Angola's main international airports, Menongue Airport remains an important regional gateway for government, business and community travel in the sparsely populated southeast.
