About Mejit Airport
Mejit Airport is a small public-use airstrip on Mejit Island, part of the Ratak Chain in the Marshall Islands. Activated in 1983, it provides a basic aviation link for residents and visitors to this remote island community.
The airfield sits about 1 km from Mejit village and has a single coral-graded runway measuring roughly 914 by 15 metres. Because the runway is not approved for larger Dash 8 operations, flights are typically operated by small aircraft on domestic services.
Passenger infrastructure is limited, with no large terminal, shops, lounges or air traffic control. Arriving travelers usually continue to island accommodations or the village by pre-arranged pickup or a short road transfer.
The airport connects Mejit primarily with Majuro, the capital of the Marshall Islands, and supports essential passenger and cargo movement for the island.
