About Wotho Island Airport
Wotho Island Airport is a small public airstrip on Wotho Island, part of Wotho Atoll in the Ralik Chain of the Marshall Islands. The atoll is made up of 13 islands around a large lagoon, and the airport serves the small community on the main island.
The airport is operated by the Marshall Islands Port Authority and is used mainly by Air Marshall Islands for inter-atoll services. It has a single dirt runway measuring about 919 m by 64 m, with no navigation aids, so flights are conducted under visual flight rules and can be affected by Pacific weather.
The airstrip lies close to the Wotho settlement and is reached by a short local road or on foot, while other parts of the atoll are reached by boat. There is no road connection to Majuro; travellers continue by air through the Marshall Islands inter-atoll network, including links via Kwajalein, Ujae and Lae atolls.
Passenger infrastructure is limited, with no refuelling, runway lighting, ground handling, firefighting equipment or security screening. Travellers should confirm schedules and make local arrangements in advance, as the airport remains an essential lifeline for supplies, medical access and movement to and from the atoll.
