Sacramento McClellan Airport (MCC) is a public-use general aviation airport serving Sacramento and the surrounding Sacramento County region. It is located in McClellan Park, approximately ten miles northeast of downtown Sacramento, the California state capital, and primarily supports private, corporate and government aviation rather than scheduled airline service.
The airport’s site has a long military history. It was established in 1936 as the Sacramento Air Depot, later became McClellan Field and then McClellan Air Force Base, and served as a major aircraft repair, maintenance and logistics center before closing as an Air Force base in 1995. The property was converted into McClellan Park, and the airfield now operates as one of the region’s most successful former military base conversions.
Because the airport is focused on general aviation, passengers typically access flights through FBO facilities rather than commercial airline terminals. McClellan Jet Services provides fueling, aircraft handling and passenger support, and the airfield is used by tenants including government agencies and private operators.
