About MBS International Airport

MBS International Airport is the main commercial airport serving Saginaw, Bay City and Midland in Michigan's Great Lakes Bay Region. Formerly known as Tri City Airport, it provides domestic connections for travelers across the central part of the state.

The airport opened its current single passenger terminal in 2012, replacing a terminal that dated to 1965. The modern 75,000-square-foot, single-level building has six gates and four passenger boarding bridges, along with a larger security screening area, an improved baggage claim hall and food, drink and gift options on both sides of security. Delta and United operate scheduled service through MBS to major hub airports such as Detroit and Chicago.

MBS is located in Freeland, Michigan, roughly midway between the three cities it serves and about 14 miles from downtown Saginaw. The airport is reached by road and is convenient to I-75, placing it within reasonable driving distance of Detroit, Flint and destinations in northern Michigan.

Parking is located within a short walk of the terminal, and rental car counters, taxis and limousine services are available directly outside the arrivals area. The compact single-terminal layout helps keep check-in, security and boarding simple and easy to navigate.
