About Maulana Prins Mandapar Airport
Maulana Prins Mandapar Airport is a small regional airport serving Banggai Laut Regency in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Construction began in 2019 and the airport was inaugurated on 26 March 2024, strengthening air links for the eastern part of the province.
Located in Kendek village, Banggai Utara district, the airport lies about 15 km from Banggai, the regency capital. It mainly handles domestic pioneer flights, including Susi Air services that connect Banggai Laut with Luwuk and other points in the region.
The airport has a single asphalt runway measuring 1,200 m by 30 m and a passenger terminal of about 1,400 square meters designed for ATR-type aircraft. It helps serve travellers from Banggai Laut, Banggai Kepulauan and nearby areas of North Maluku.
Road transport links the airport with Banggai town and surrounding settlements, while onward travel to other islands is usually continued by sea from local ports.
