About Martin State Airport
Martin State Airport is a public-use, joint civil-military airport located in Middle River, Maryland, about 10 miles (16 km) northeast of downtown Baltimore. It serves general aviation, business and private flights, and also hosts the Maryland Air National Guard's 175th Wing.
The airport traces its history to 1929, when Glenn L. Martin purchased land in Middle River for aircraft manufacturing, and the airfield was completed in the early 1940s. The State of Maryland acquired the facility in 1975 and named it Glenn L. Martin State Airport, now commonly known as Martin State Airport.
The airport operates a single main runway of about 7,000 feet and a general aviation terminal and FBO complex rather than large commercial passenger terminals. It provides fuel, aircraft services, hangar space, pilot and passenger lounges, and supporting amenities for private and business aviation.
Located near Eastern Boulevard (MD Route 150), the airport has convenient road access and is close to the Martin State Airport MARC station, linking travelers to Baltimore and the wider region. Rental cars, taxis, private transfers and courtesy van service support onward travel.
