About Mariquita Airport
Mariquita Airport is a small regional airport serving Mariquita, a municipality in the Tolima Department of Colombia. It is operated by Aerocivil, Colombia's civil aviation authority, and supports domestic travel to and from the northern Tolima region.
The airport was inaugurated in November 1940 and is among the older aviation sites in the country. Its single asphalt runway is designated 01/19 and lies adjacent to the north side of Mariquita, with a single passenger terminal handling arrivals and departures.
Located about 2 km from the centre of Mariquita, the airport is within easy reach of the town and provides road access to Honda, La Dorada and other settlements along the Magdalena River valley. Connections continue toward Ibagué, the capital of Tolima, and the capital city of Bogotá.
